Managing or preventing the spread of insects that are considered pests is called insect control. These pests can destroy crops, trees, shrubs, and so on. Some pests can even go as far as cause diseases and destroy homes. This is why insect control has been around ever since time immemorial and is such an important part of civilization.

Insects as Pests

For the most part, insects serve important functions in our environment. They help pollinate plants, spread seeds, and promote the decay of dead things to help recycle nutrients in the soil. Insects can become pests when the natural order of the environment becomes altered, like when their predators are gone, their homes destroyed and when they have too much or too little food. By changing their environment, these insects have to adapt. And one way for them to adapt is for them to take what they need for other species, mainly humans. That’s how normally harmless insects can become pests that destroy our crops, gardens, and homes.

Chemicals and Pest Control

When we see pests, our first response is usually to get a can of pesticide and spray those critters to death. It makes sense that when something destructive invades your home, you do what you can to destroy it before it does any damage. That’s why insect killers like Bayer insect control products have become staples in most homes.

However, using these products actually do more harm than good. The chemicals and poisons used to kill pests also have a negative effect on humans and pets. Plus, they’re not as effective as you think. Insects are masters when it comes to adapting to their environment. Those that survive the effects of the pesticides will eventually develop a resistance to it. This trait will be passed on from generation to generation until eventually they will develop a resistance to any chemical insecticide that we develop.

Natural Insect Control

So how is natural or organic insect control better than chemical pest control? For one, they’re completely safe to use. It won’t harm you, your pets and your plants. Natural insects control mimics nature’s way of controlling these pests, which means that insects won’t become resistant to it.

There are plenty of ways of managing these pests which don’t include the use of harmful chemicals. These natural pest control methods include clover underplanting, elder leaf insecticide, garlic spray, great fleabane treatment, horseradish pesticide, lime spray, marigold spray, pepper and herb dusts, sugar drench, yarrow tea, and many more. Aside from those, the biological pest controls available which can be bought from garden stores, hardware stores, and over the internet.

Conservation of Natural Enemies

Preserving the natural enemies of pests in your area is one of the most straightforward methods used up to date. The idea of attracting and preserving these enemies is very simple and cheap. Building nest boxes for bats that feed on mosquitoes can reduce these disease carrying insects. You can put plants that attract pest eating birds like acorns, nuts, seeds, or nectar to encourage birds to make their home in your garden.

Parasitoid Insects

Parasitoid insects lay eggs inside these pests which will become their food as they develop into larvae. They are very handy to have in gardens because in addition to controlling pests, they can also help pollinate flowering plants. Examples of parasitoid insects include Tachinid flies and Ichneumonid, Braconid and Chalcid wasps. Nematodes and parasitic wasps are also parasitoid insects that can be used as an alternative for scale insect control products

Micro-organisms

These microbial insect diseases occur naturally and can be an alternative for pest control. Bacteria and fungi are the two important micro-organisms that can possibly exist in your area. Bacillus thuringiensis is widely used to control moths, butterfly, beetles and true flies. Entomopathogenic fungi like beauveria bassiana, paecilomyces fumosoroseus, metarhizium, and cordyceps are effective against thrips, aphids, weevils, flies, spider mites and wide species of arthropods.

Removing Pest Attractants

One of the first things you should do to control pests is to remove attractants like food or breeding places. Keeping your home clean is a good way of preventing ants. Keeping your yard clean of leaves and dead branches is the first step in preventing termites. You can stop mosquitoes from spreading into your home by removing anything that can hold stagnant water like puddles, cans or any containers left outside the house.

Field Burning

In wide crop farms, it almost impossible to check for pests every square meter. In order to ensure that there are no pests left after the harvest and to help the soil recover, some farms practice controlled field burning. Field burning is a popular method of pest control used in sugar cane farms. Bring the field after harvesting help kill any pest that may be left and the ash can be used to fertilize the field.

We’ve done a lot of damage to our environment because of chemical insect control products. But by using organic insect control methods, we can promote a healthy environment while getting rid of those pests. The best way to control pests is the natural way.

Pests are a nuisance to humans. They carry diseases, destroy agricultural crops, and destroy trees and shrubs. In your organic garden, using chemical pest control can affect your plants, making them inedible and harm the natural habitat of other plants, insects and animals. By using natural pest control methods, you can control pests without affecting the quality and safety of your plants. It can be very challenging on your part but this article will provide you all natural pest control methods that might come handy.

Natural Pest Control Methods

Natural or organic pest control is a method of managing pests without using toxic chemicals like those found in commercial pesticides. These chemicals can affect not just the plants but every living thing in that environment. By using organic pest control, you can still get the best and the freshest harvest possible without disrupting your garden’s ecological balance.

In using natural pest control methods, you should consider the following factors: soil health, diversity of species, the ease of the do-it-yourself pest control methods, and the type of pests invading your garden. The four main factors would determine which organic pest control method would work best for your garden.

Improving Soil Health

Soil is the main ingredient in your garden. It is where your plants get the nutrients they need in order for them to grow. Healthy soil attracts beneficial microorganisms that can prevent certain plant diseases and can repel certain plant pests.

Pests are attracted to either food or the environment itself. Cleaning your garden regularly can drive away these pests. Practice proper waste management in your garden by having composting pits. These pits are necessary in keeping the soil healthy. These pits are where you store biological wastes like leaves and branches so they can break down into humus. Humus is organic matter that’s rich in moisture and nutrients. Humus is what makes soil rich and fertile and encourages the growth of plants and the diversity of insect and animal life.

Encouraging Diversity of Species

The more diverse the plant species are in your garden, the healthier it is. A biologically diverse garden attracts all kinds of insects and animals like bird, bats, bees and lizards. Birds and bats help control the population of insect pests while beneficial insects help control bacterial and fungal pests from attacking your plants.

Having a wide variety of plants in your garden also helps keeps the soil healthy by giving it time and space to replenish itself. As much as possible, grow plants that are endemic to your area. Endemic plants are better adapted to that environment and have natural mechanisms to fight against pests. You can start by growing wild sunflowers; they can control moths, banded moths, stem weevils, midges and beetles.

Do-It-Yourself Pest Control

There are a lot of methods that can control the population of garden pest. This includes, handpicking, making rigid collars, obtaining diatomaceous earth, making row covers, using eggshells, organic pesticides and many more. These methods are manually done and are usually safe and effective.

Using eggshells broken down into tiny pieces can prevent caterpillars and other crawling garden pests in reaching your crops. Surround the tiny pieces of eggshells around the base of the crop. The sharp edges of the eggshells can hurt these crawling insects and discourages them from climbing up the plants.

Rigid collars can also be helpful in preventing worms. Thrust rigid collars in the ground surrounding the crop. You can use PVC’s or tissue rolls for this method. These collars are hard to climb and can prevent worms from infesting your plants.

Diatomaceous earth is a kind of limestone used to kill and repel ants, termites, slugs, snails, fleas, aphids, bed bugs, mites, roaches, ticks, scorpions, cutworms, lawn grubs, grasshoppers and many more. Sprinkle diatomaceous earth dusts over the desired area. You can buy this from any garden or hardware store.

Row covers are effective against flying pests. It is usually made up of lightweight synthetics forming a protective tunnel that covers the crops using light supportive framework.

You can also use natural/organic pesticides that are derived from plants like pepper spray, yarrow tea, and many more.

These methods can be tiresome compared to chemical pest control methods but they can be just as effective and they have the added benefit of promoting a healthy environment.

Pest Specific Pest Control

There are many different kinds of pest control methods. Some of these methods are more effective than others depending on the type of pests involved. Here’s a quick list of common pests and the most effective methods of controlling them.

Japanese beetles – row covers, handpicking and beneficial predators

Slugs – handpicking, diatomaceous earth and beneficial predators

Squash bug – handpicking, cleanliness and beneficial predators

Whitefly – insecticidal soap and beneficial microorganisms and predators

Cabbage root maggot – crop rotation, diatomaceous earth and specific nematodes

Aphid – insecticidal soap and beneficial predators

Army worm – row covers and handpicking

Cutworm – Rigid collars and diatomaceous earth

Flea beetle – row covers, soap, sprayand garlic-pepper spray

Natural pest control is a method of effectively managing pests in your garden while promoting a healthier environment. It is far more excellent than asking help from a chemically pest control service.

The nightmare of any homeowner or building structure managers is the termite. They are tiny insects that can cause expensive damages to your structure. To add insult to injury, it is hard to detect if your structure is infested by termites. It would be wise for everyone to equip oneself with the information about termites, how to kill termites and how to make sure your home will be free from termites. As a homeowner you have a choice on how to kill termites. You can either do it on your own or ask the help of the termite control experts.

Termite Inspection

Before putting yourself in a panic mode about termites, it is best that you first conduct a thorough inspection of your structure and environment to make sure that there are really termites. The prevalent evidence that your house might be termite infested is that there are visible holes in the wood around your structure. When you knock on your wood foundation and it sounds hollow, then there might be colonies of termite that might be living there.

The termite inspection can be done by you if you are confident enough and know how to look for the possible termite damages. If you want a more professional inspection then you can hire a pest control company that can do it for you. Either way, this will be the first step you can do to make sure that you have termite infestation in your structure.

After concluding that you have termites, the next thing to do is to identify the kind of termite that inhabits your structure. Why do you have to do this? Treatments for termites differ. It is best that you know the type of termite so that the treatment used would be effective.

Different Termite Treatments

Now that you have identified the termites, then you can plan on what treatments you can use to kill the termites. You can consult the pest control on what is the most effective way to kill termites. Since there are many ways on how to kill termites, it is best that you proceed with caution if you are going to do it yourself. The materials you will use may contain poisonous substances that can be lethal to your health.

If you decide to hire a professional pest control company then it is wise to discuss or plan on what will happen to your structure for the termite treatments and what is expected of you just in case you will need to transfer to another place if the termite infestation is quite big.

The well-known termite treatment is fumigation. It is tested to show good result in killing termites and without any fuss on the owner’s part. This kind of treatment is done by expert pest control exterminators. It may cost more than other termite treatments but it can assure that you will have a termite free home. Almost all pest control companies do this kind of termite treatment.

Another option for the termite treatments is baiting. This is a new way to kill termites. Many people respond favorably to this kind of treatment because it uses fewer amounts of chemicals. Unlike fumigation that can cover a large area, baiting is done in specific areas where the termites are more prevalent. The target is very specific and focused. They make sure that the poison would directly hit the termites. The advantage of this is that it decreases the contamination of other areas specially the natural environment. It is also safer for human and pets because it is hidden and out of reach.

If the termite infestation is quite small, then there are do-it-yourself options for the homeowners. There is the liquid termite treatment. You can use this by spraying it all over the house to kill the termites.

After the treatments, you can also consider prevention to stop the termites from coming back to your structure. You use borate treatments by applying it directly to the woods. It is sort of a coat of paint for the prevention of termites. This is more ideal if your house is just under construction and you can treat the wood with this treatment.

Other termite treatment to consider are electrocutions, heating, cooling and microwaves.

As you can see, there is not just one answer on how to kill termites. It will depend on which will be best for you structure and environment. It will also depend on how you want to do it. It does not really matter what kills termites as long as they are removed from your home. There are also the factors of costs and time to consider. If you think that it is too much for you to handle then it is best that you let the professionals handle it.

Termites have a great role in our ecosystem. They produce humus by decomposing dead trees and plants. Humus is a natural by-product which improves the soil’s ability to hold moisture and provides plants the nutrients it needs to grow. However, termites also affect the wood found in our homes and buildings, causing a lot of damage. Termites are spread all over the United States and every home is a target. There are two different types of termites that can infest your house: subterranean and drywood termites. We’ll be talking about drywood termites, how these creatures can destroy your home, and what you can do to prevent it.

Drywood vs. Subterranean Termites

It is very important to identify which termite is which because each type has a specific treatment. Termites differ in their size of colony, roles of every member, appearances, etc.

Formosan subterranean termites are mostly found in damp grounds. They travel underground through mud tubes to search for new dwelling places. These mud tubes are built using their own fecal matter and they use these mud tunnels to travel from one place to another. They eat along the thread of the wood and only eat spring wood, western drywood or any soft woods.

On the other hand, drywood termites directly infest the wood structure. They do not need to produce mud tubes to travel from place to place. Alates or swarmers fly distant places to look for new places where they can start a colony. Drywood termites eat across the thread of the woods which are mostly spring or summer woods. They produce kick holes in their dwelling places where they push out their fecal matters (Drywood termite droppings).

Drywood Termites

Drywood termites look different from subterranean termites. Alates or swarmers have 3 – 4 thick veins on their wings which are usually dark in color. They discard their wings in just a few minutes after they have found a new spot. They are night swarmers. However, there are some species which swarm during the daytime. Redwood termite’s soldiers have round heads. The size of the head will depend on their species. Some of them may also have teeth on their mandibles.

Drywood termites have three life stages: young, immature and adult. Mature or adult drywood termites are the main workers of the colony. They gather food and feed the young, immature redwood termites and everybody else in the colony.

Signs of Infestation

Basically, identifying redwood termite infestation is really very easy. Review your drywood termites’ pictures to properly identify these pests. If you found the following, you might be infested with drywood termites:

Live termites

Fecal pellets

Kick holes

Discarded wings of alates or swarmers

It is very obvious that your house is under infestation if you can see live termites at your home. It is also alarming to see piles of fecal pellets just beside their kick holes as this is one of the signs that pest control services usually look for during a termite inspection. You should also be aware of the alates or swarmers. Their presence indicates that they are already inside your house. When you can find discarded wings from alates inside your house, then, your house is already infested. Alates or swarmers are considered as secondary reproductives. Reproductives are termites that could create their own colonies.

Termite Control

It is very important to check every part of your house often. Termites particularly like these areas of the house: exterior rims, corners on the floors and ceilings, windows, door frames, supports, dormers, cornices and stairs.

As much as possible, avoid leaving firewood or scrap wood outside your house. If you absolutely have to, elevate the wood by by a few inches or put them on a table and make sure the area surrounding the pile of wood is clean of debris like dead leaves and garbage. Termites are attracted to debris and nearby wood structures can make it easier for termites to attack your house.

Drywood Termite Prevention and Treatment

It is important to detect drywood termite infestations as early as possible. You don’t want to wait before your supports crack, do you?

You can prevent drywood termites from infesting your house by applying chemicals that can repel these pests. This should be done during the construction. Remove all possible dwelling places like dead branches and the likes. Another thing, drywood termites won’t initiate infestation if your house is painted thoroughly. Drywood termites don’t like the smell and taste of paint. It is very important to consider these preventive measures during the pre-construction plan. If you’ve already built your house, you can still apply these preventive treatments but they won’t be as effective. You also have to remember that these treatments have to be repeated every few years to make sure that termites will stay away.

If your home is already infested by termites, there are 2 things you can do: wood replacement and fumigation. Wood replacement is safer choice as it doesn’t involve harmful chemicals. Wood replacement will replace your damaged wood and other wooden structures. However, this type of treatment may not be applicable to all structures and you have to use treated wood to make sure termites don’t attack the same spot.

Fumigation is the technique most pest control companies use. This is where they cover your house with a tarpaulin tent and they spray insecticides to suffocate all drywood termites inside.

Drywood termites are serious pests. The damage they inflict costs us around $1.7 billion every year. Drywood termites are one of the highly devastating kinds of species. As destructive as termites can be, there are always ways to prevent them that are easier and cheaper than treating them and replacing our homes.

First of all, Florida is prone to hurricanes. Hurricane Andrew is one of the well-known hurricanes that hit the state of Florida hard. Florida has a subtropical climate. That is why it is one of the states that are prone to termites and pest problems. So, the Florida Pest Control services are readily available for residents of Florida that are experiencing pest invasion.

Pest Control

Florida Pest Control is a serious business. This is because Florida has different kinds of pests that plague this Sunshine State year round. During the summer, there are pests that can affect the agriculture industry. While during the rainy months when structures are moist and damp, there are termites that can live and infest these infrastructures.

Florida Pest Control License

When we think about termite control or pest control, we wonder how the pest control companies able to operate do. I mean, we see a long listing of pest control companies in Florida but have you ever wondered how these businesses are able to operate?

Florida’s Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control has the main responsibility of protecting its Florida Citizens from different pests and disease carrying insects. They are also the one who monitor the pest control companies. They put a stop on unscrupulous pest control services.

The major components of the Pest Control Section of the Bureau are to document the issuance of the license, training and certification.

You would ask why you need a pest control license. Well for one thing, the pest control companies are handling chemicals that might be harmful to humans. So, it is necessary for control and regulation of these pest control chemicals. Another reason why you need the pest control license is to monitor the different Florida pest control companies. This can help you locate the pest control company and this would also be a tool for you to use in case you would need to file complaints about the pest control services.

Steps in Acquiring the Pest Control License

In case you are interested in going to the pest control business, you might keep the following in mind:

The first thing you need to do is to train as a pest control exterminator. The good news here is there are no specific basic educational requirements. However, if you wish to be pest control operator you would need to pass examinations. You also need to take courses needed to get to know more about pest control services. There are several schools you can look into that offers pest control education. In Florida, there is the Florida Gateway College. This college offers applied technology diploma in pest control. If you finish this program you are required to take the certification exam for pest control operators.

The University of Florida offers the Certificates in Urban Pest Management and Pest Control Management.

After all taking the necessary courses and taking the pest control operator examination. The next thing you need to do is to obtain the insurance for your pest control service. Pass the necessary documents to get the pest control license. The documents that you will submit must have the signature of a licensed pest exterminator.

The Original Florida Pest Control Services

One of the old and established pest control company in Florida is Florida Pest Control Services. It is a family owned business. The reason why they have been successful is that they really studied pests before going in to the business of pest control. They have already expanded into different places around Florida.

Houses age and some get destroyed over time. Houses have a certain life span depending on the materials used to build it. Wood is a popular building material. It looks good and is cheaper than cement, brick and metals. This material can be used to make virtually anything from walls, ceilings, and flooring. It has the physical properties that make strong and sturdy houses. However, there is a certain problem we can encounter when using wood to build houses; termites. What are termites anyway? Let us describe pictures of termites in the following phrases to identify them appropriately so you could apply the appropriate termite control products immediately.

Sometimes, it could be misleading to identify termites because they look so similar to ants. They have similar appearances at first glance. But when you look really closely, there are big differences on how they actually look. Let’s take a peek at the pictures of termites.

What are Termites?

Termites are tiny insects which feed on wood. Their digestive systems can break down cellulose from cell walls of plants to produce energy. Their colonies follow the “caste system” allowing them to cooperate very well. They establish colonies which consist of king and queen as the leaders and main reproductive members, supported by worker termites, soldier termites, and alates.

The king and queen termites are the primary reproductive members but a colony can have secondary and tertiary reproductives which can increase their population exponentially. Soldier termites are the ones responsible for defending the colony. Soldier termites can secrete toxic substances from which they utilize to kill and drive away intruders. Worker termites do most of the work inside the colony – they transport food, make tunnels, and take care for the young termites. They also feed the king, queen, and soldiers because they can’t feed by themselves. Alates are winged reproductive termites. They are reproduced to find new locations and build a new colony.

They can cause extreme damage wood infrastructures, they can hollow trees and the worst case, eat your house. Termites eat up to millions of dollars’ worth of houses and other buildings every year. Their species continue to grow and spread worldwide. They are mostly found in damp areas underground or in wooden structures. They’re probably there right now dwelling in your neighborhood.

What do Termites look like?

When you look at a picture of a termite you can see that they are about the size of an ant which is approximately ½ inch. They are six legged insects. Ants and termites have the same body structure but slightly different in shapes. Their body structure is composed of the head, mandible, abdomen, legs, thorax and antennas. They can also have wings.

By looking at those termite pictures, you can easily identify that the queen termite is a bit larger than the king termite. Only these two have eyes. Soldier termites have large heads with long and sturdy mandibles. Their heads are usually darker than their bodies. Worker termites are whitish in color (creamy or milky white). They have small mandibles just enough to carry small bits of woods to their colonies.

How Do They Differ From Ants?

You can’t easily identify their differences by just looking at the picture of a termite only. You have to compare both pictures. Though termites have different colors depending on its species, they are usually light colored from white to orange. Ants, then again, are usually red or black in color.

Termites have bodies that are distinctly divided into two parts: abdomen and the thorax as one, and the head. While ants have three distinct body structures: head, abdomen and the thorax. Termite’s abdomen is slightly pointed while ants have round ends.

Termites don’t have eyes while ants have compounded eyes. Aside from the reproductives, other termite members use scents and moisture trails to navigate around inside and outside their colonies.

Pictures of termites with wings or alates are very much different from ants with wings. There are three main differences between these two. First, termite’s antennas are straight and beaded while ant’s antennas are bent. Termite’s antenna looks like a string of beads if magnified. Second, their wings are different. Termite’s wings are equal in size while ant’s wings have unequal lengths. The wings inside are larger than the wings outside. Termite’s wings are laid straightly parallel to its body when at rest. Lastly, termite’s abdomen is straightly equal while ants have a thin portion in their bodies, their thorax.

You can detect termites by identifying their physical attributes. As you have read, termites are far more different from ants.

Now, that you can recognize how pictures of termites look like, you can identify them easily from ants. Early detection can save lots of time and money and preventing is always better than applying termite control products which would cost you a lot. It good to know how certain things would look like to identify them appropriately, especially, when termites are getting ready to wreck your house.

Are they ants? Are they flies? Oh no! They are flying termites! The word “termites” strikes the fear in a home owner’s heart. Termites mean that your house is danger of being destroyed by these pesky creatures. What is the difference between a flying termite and a regular termite? My advice to the homeowner is that in order to effectively get rid of flying termites in house structures is to arm yourself with the proper information. It is also important to note is that a thorough understanding of these creatures can help you remove them from your house completely.

Identification of Flying Termites

For clarification, flying termites are not a kind of termite. Instead, it is a caste or class in the termite system. They are also known as swarmers or scouters. Before we thoroughly discuss what they are, let us first talk about their physical resemblance to the ants. Flying termites are often mistaken for flying ants because of their similarity. But if you look closely at these two insects you can figure out the distinct difference between the two. The body parts of the ants have the head, thorax and feet. The ants with wings have a curved body while the flying termite has a straight body. Another distinguishing separation between them is their antenna. The ant’s antenna is bent while the termites have straight antenna.

The winged termites are still basically harmless because they are not the cause of damage of house structures. What the flying ants or termites represent is that there might be termite infestation in your home. As I mentioned these winged termites might not be the ones eating the wood of your home, but they are the ones producing the termites. They can reproduce thousands of termites that might prove to be the downfall of your home.

Removal of Flying Termites in House Structures

Now that we have determined what a flying termite looks like, the next thing to do is how to get rid of it. Termite infestation can be a costly experience for a homeowner. What is best is that one should also examine thoroughly the places where the flying termites are found. From there you can decide if you would just be the one who will remove the termites or you will need the help of the expert pest control companies.

When you use do-it yourself products to remove our flying termites’ problem, it would be cheaper for you. Of course there might be a danger that you might not remove the entire flying termite colony because the product you may have used is not effective enough.

If you want to be sure, then you will need to ask the expert pest control company near you. It may be more expensive than the do-it-yourself pest control but you can also be assured of quality service of removing the termites. The swarming termites will be no match with the professional handling of the pest control exterminators. Of course, they would not just barge in and have a ready made solution to your problem. Instead, they would inspect first the house and see the extent of the flying termites’ infestation.

After that, they will give you an estimate of how much the treatment will cost. Then you can decide if you let the pest company continue with the possible solutions to your pest problem. The pest control company would most likely use chemicals for the removal. The usual treatment that these exterminators use is the thermiticide and baiting.

Natural and Chemical Extermination

Nowadays, being eco-friendly is the mantra. The same also applies to pest extermination. There are homeowners who are very concerned with their environment and would therefore also consider the pesticides that will be used in the eradication of the termites. That is why, the pest control companies also look into ways that would be both effective and environmentally friendly. The pest control companies continuously experiment and look for alternative ways to get rid of flying termites or any other pests that can invade your home. If they cannot help but use pesticides, they make sure that the amount used is just sufficient to kill the flying termites while not so dangerous for the environment.

Flying termites and other pests are problems that are faced by home owners. These problems should be looked into as soon as possible to avoid damage to structures. It is important that the homeowners themselves be the one to spot immediately if their structures are in immediate danger from pest infestation like flying termites, ants or any other pests. If unsure of the finding then it is time to seek the help of the experts. The pest control company is ready to be of service to you. There are many pest control companies that you can check out in the directory listings as well as the internet.

Whoever will use this solution should have more experience and would need to seek advice from someone who was able to use the pest control products already. It can also be set up immediately because you are the one who will do it. The disadvantage of using do-it-yourself pest control products is that you are not sure if what you are doing is correct. This can happen if the homeowner is inexperienced with pest control. If a pest control product is used incorrectly then it can mean money wasted and the pests may have not disappeared altogether.

Home pest control companies are already experienced with handling pest problems. They are professional exterminators that deal with different pest control problems. They are reliable and you can expect that aside from the initial service of removing the pests from your home, they can also provide check-ups to ensure that your home is pest free. The disadvantages of home pest control companies are the price. It can be more costly because they are experts. Some home pest control companies are not dependable. There can be unscrupulous pest control companies so one has to be careful. If you are planning to hire a home pest control company, then you really need to find out the reputation of the company that you wish to hire.

Home pest control is a serious business. They either make our home safe from the pests or they can destroy our homes through wrong use. That is why it is important that we equip ourselves with the right information so that we can find the right home pest control for our homes.

If you really do plan of getting rid of pests in your place then you need a product that will totally eliminate them. Money is tight right these days so I am sure that not all of us can afford the luxury of spending extra cash of to conrtol a pest infestation. If we do have some extra money then we will make sure that we will indeed find the best way to get rid of pests.

Electronic Pest Control Devices

This is term used for several kinds of electronically powered devices used to get rid of pests like rodents and insects. These devices are available in most hardware stores, garden centers and the internet. The main attractiveness of these products is that they are environmentally friendly. This means that they are less harmful and toxic than the usual pest control treatments out there in the market.

The electronic pest control devices have two kinds the ultrasonic and the electromagnetic. The public opinions also about these devices are conflicting. Some of the electronic pest control review gives off conflicting results. There are reviews that said it works and others said it doesn’t. So what will a person do? Try it out yourself to find out.

Electromagnetic Pest Repeller

The byword nowadays is eco-friendly. Hence the increasing popularity of electronic pest controls products. According to most manufacturers of electromagnetic pest control products, it is safe for people, pets and the environment. It is less hassle compared to the chemical treatments.

In most pest control treatments, you would need the expert to do this for you. This can cause more and may not really be as effective as they pest control company assures you. With the electronic pest control product, all you need to do is go to any hardware store or even buy online. Then you can install it yourself.

Ultrasonic Pest Control Device

Electromagnetic pest devices used vibrations as a signal for pests. This can travel through the wall of your house. These vibrations can cause major damage to the pests that invade your home while keeping you relatively safe and harm free. With the ultrasonic pest control device, the sound that it emits is the one that can get rid of the pests. It has a high frequency sound that can be irritating to the pests but cannot be heard by the human ear. According to the manufacturers, this sound is toxic for any pests that it can cause them to leave their nests or eventually die out.

Effectiveness of Electronic Pest Control

It is still suspect about the effectiveness of the electronic pest control product. Testing is still done because of some complaints from consumers that the products they purchased did not really work. The studies turned out that although it may affect the rodents, there is a saturation point. This means that up to certain the degree the rodents will get used to the sound or frequency that these electronic pest control devices emit and would not be repelled by it.

What the researches are suggesting is that you can combine these electronic pest control devices with other pest control repellent. You still need to use pesticides and treatments to make sure that the rodents and insects are eliminated.

There are certain cases that the device really does not work and that the manufacturers falsely advertised the effectiveness of the product.

When I read most of the information about the electronic pest control devices, what I did was to find a product that has a money back guarantee so I will be sure that if the product that I purchased does not work, then I can return and get my money back.

Pest infestation is a serious problem. It can destroy the home that you love. You have to make sure that whatever pest repellent that you will buy will be effective in getting rid of your pest problems. That is why if you would be considering buying an electronic pest repellent then you have to consider the pros and cons of buying it. Many treatments could be harmful for humans and the environment but most of them are tried and tested already. You can be sure that they really work.

Of course, it is still your choice what kind of pest control product that you would want to use. My advice is to seek out the experts when it comes to this kind of decision. Manufacturers of electronic pest control may be blatantly telling a lie just to sell a product. Canvass or ask around which is really the best form of getting rid of pests.
