Due to consistent changing weather conditions, there has been an increasing case of termite swarms being reported. The presence of swarms in your property could only mean active termite infestation on structures that could have gone unnoticed for a long time.   An immediate termite control is essential to reduce termite activity and stop future damage to properties.  You may call for professional assistance from termite control companies to do a thorough inspection or perform necessary termite treatment and put a halt to termite intrusion.

Though home owners may choose to do termite treatment on their own, it is still best to hire experts to do termites control and leave minimal margin for error.  But expensive termite control costs cause hesitations from homeowner in employing professional help.  Yes, the service will cost you hundreds but it could turn out to be a pretty good investment on your home as well.  If the treatment is done properly and accurately, chances of re-infestation may be eliminated making your home more secure and damage free.  Because the treatment will require compensation, exercising caution in choosing the right pest control company that offers the best and reliable service should be observed.

Different termite control methods exist in treating for termites that termite control companies employ depending on the kind and severity of the infestation.

Tent Fumigation
This method is far reaching compared to other treatments if the severity of the infestation extends throughout the whole structure.  It requires homeowners to leave home for at least three days while exterminators perform the treatment.  There may be things that needed to be done by homeowners before leaving the house such as emptying the house of food that could be contaminated with toxins once fumigation starts, etc.  It is advisable to ask the experts on the specifics.  Day 1, the whole house will be covered in a huge tent and fumigation will follow.  A toxic gas will be released inside the tent and circulated with fans placed all over the house to properly cover all areas that needs to be treated.  The tent will be removed on Day 2 releasing the gas.  Day 3, an inspector will assess the gas level in the air and decide on whether it is safe for homeowners to move back in.  Another thorough inspection will be done to make sure that all termites living inside the structure have been eliminated.  This treatment does not, however, affect subterranean termites living in soil because the gas cannot penetrate inside.  It is best to do preventive measures to evade re-infestation.

Chemical Treatments
Exterminators will trench and drill the outskirts of the foundation of the house and apply termiticides.  This termite control method will provide chemical barriers between termites in the soil and your home.  Repellant termiticide will repel termites from going inside the structure by avoiding the chemical and forage elsewhere for food.  Non-repellant termiticide work by being undetectable by termites while tunneling through the soil and contact with the chemical will kill them.

Termite Baiting
The goal of this treatment is to stifle termites and eliminate their colony.  The process starts by surveying the perimeter around the house and spot the areas where termites may be dwelling. Initial baiting system will then be installed by stations through inserting plastic monitors with untreated wood inside.  After a month or so, these bait monitors will be retrieved to see if there are termites present on the untreated wood.  Toxic bait will be placed inside the monitors.  The toxic bait will slowly kill termites without them realizing it, giving them enough time to spread the toxin to the rest of the colony.
